Dear MCG, The JISC have recently commissioned UKOLN and ULCC's Digital Archives to produce a new Handbook on the Preservation of Web Resources. The Handbook is available free of charge at:http://www.jisc.ac.uk/media/documents/programmes/preservation/powrhandbookv1.pdf The issue of web preservation has come up previously on the list, and this Handbook is full of useful information, including strategies which help you decide what to keep, how to keep it and how to ensure ongoing access to it for future generations. The Handbook itself has been put together following a multi-disciplinary workshop which included web managers and specialists in Digital Preservation. As a sector, we tend not to do a whole lot of web preservation, but it is likely to become an increasingly common feature of funding requirements for projects, so it is a useful bit of knowledge to arm yourself with!
