The 4th Annual Association of Adaptation Studies Conference will be in
London at the British Film Institute (24-25 September, 2009).  Panels and
papers are invited on a wide range of subjects, including adaptation and
feminism, postmodernism, the new technologies, music, costume,
stars,ethnicity, and genre.

Prestige and Cinema: this panel will examine the issue of cultural economy
and the circulation of prestigious literary content in cinematic form. Work
on prestige and cultural economy has appeared in the work of English
(Harvard, 2005), while material devoted to the commercial exploitation of
prestigious content can be found in Murray (Media Culture Society, 2005).
The panel coordinator invites contributions that can address this theme.
