Announcing the European Journal of Endocrinology Archive

Charting clinical and translational endocrinology for 50 years, the
European Society of Endocrinology launches its new digital archive.
Available to institutional purchasers from January 2009 selected papers
will be free online from launch.

What is the European Journal of Endocrinology Archive?

The European Journal of Endocrinology Archive is an online collection of
material published before June 1997 back to 1948. The archive includes
all volumes of Acta Endocrinologica from 1948-1993, the predecessor
journal to the European Journal of Endocrinology, and the 1993-1997
volumes of the European Journal of Endocrinology as we know it today.

The archive is published by BioScientifica Ltd on behalf of the ESE and
hosted by HighWire Press and includes over 11400 articles and 123000
pages of fully searchable PDFs.

Why has ESE digitised the back volumes?

As a non-profit organisation the European Society of Endocrinology
promotes communication about endocrinology and works to advance research
and education. They recognised that by making the papers from 1948
available online they would provide the endocrine community with not
just a historical record, but also a valuable archive of key papers that
are relevant to today's researchers.

How is it accessed?

The European Journal of Endocrinology Archive will be available online
to institutions from January 2009 and can either be purchased by current
subscribers to EJE for a 10% increase on the annual subscription price
or as an outright purchase for perpetual use.

Key papers within the archive will be available online free from October
2008 leading up to the launch in January 2009. To find out more, see
