The British Geological Survey, The University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh Seismic Research are organising a meeting to discuss the future of Earthquake and Exploration Seismology in the UK.

The meeting is to be held in Edinburgh, 2-3 April 2009 at Our Dynamic Earth.

We aim to bring together earthquake and exploration seismologists, and those working in related fields such as seismic hazard, crustal deformation and seismic imaging.

In addition to hearing about latest discoveries, we will hold sessions to discuss the aims and objectives of the UK seismological community over the next ten years, and to plan and initiate programmes of coordinated action.

The first circular and pre-registration are available at
http://www.quakes.bgs.ac.uk/seis09/

Questions and further information may be addressed to the organisers at [log in to unmask]

Best wishes,

Brian Baptie, Andy Bell, Andrew Curtis, Ian Main, Lars Ottemöller and Susanne Sargeant
