We draw your attention to the second announcement for the Granulites & Granulites 2009 international conference on “Granulites, partial melting and rheology of orogenic lower crust” to be held in Hrubá Skála Chateau, near Prague, in the Czech Republic from 13 to 15 July 2009, with pre- and post-conference short courses and field trips.

Full information about the conference, the pre-conference short course and field trip, and the post-conference field trip and short course, and all deadlines may be found at: http://petrol.natur.cuni.cz/conference

The second circular is available here.

All of those interested in lower crustal processes are welcome to participate in the conference. Although the number of oral presentations will be limited, we anticipate a full compliment of poster contributions and we encourage all participants to show their work in a poster.

The pre-conference fieldtrip will visit the type locality of the Saxonian granulites and the South Bohemian granulites, and the post-conference field trip will visit the Austrian and Moravian granulites. Two short courses are offered: characterization, interpretation and modelling of metamorphic textures; and, calculating metamorphic mineral equilibria.

For any other information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

The organizing committee looks forward to welcoming you to Czech Republic for the G&G2009 Conference!
