Hi,

Have you thought about looking at the Titmus Vision Screener?

Hi Lynne

What did you think about the Optec vision tester, is it better than the Keystone?  One of the problems I find with the Keystone is testing people for near vision who wear Bifocals, as they have difficulty with adjusting their eye level when wearing their specs.

Kind regards

Anne

Hi, Sue

We use MicroLab 3500s, have done for years and they are extremely user friendly, sturdy and reliable.   We trialled a Vitalograph Alpha for a month and our OHNs couldn't return it quick enough! (Apologies to Janine Hill from Vitalograph who was amazing to come to us at our office workshop and carry out a superb presentation, answer our questions AND lend us a new machine for a month).   It just wasn't meant to be because we were already sold on our tried and tested MicroLabs from MicroMedical but wanted to look at what else was out there.

Definitely talk to Liz Donaghy at Kays Medical.   We have bought our last MicroLab and Keystone Vision Tester from Kays and their service is exemplary.   They also work for their money and come out with relevant reps to demonstrate the various models.   (We have just had a demonstration from Amplivox on their Optec vision tester, organised through Liz.)   These pieces of equipment are not cheap so look before you buy.

Just one addendum regarding the MicroLab 3500 series.   They run on internal battery and mains adapter.   Our OHNs were routinely plugging them in to the socket - never using the battery power alone.   This reduces the life of the battery dramatically and once the battery dies, the machine does not function on the mains adapter.   Be advised to use the battery on a frequent basis and they will give you fault free service for years.

Regards

Lynne
