Information Specialist

Business and Management (Executive Development Support)

£28,633 to £31,914 per annum, pro rata (30 hours per week)

You will join a team of existing information specialists who, as a whole, cover all the teaching and research areas within the University. You should therefore be able to demonstrate that you can work well within a team, although we will also encourage you to be proactive, to use your initiative and to develop your own personal strengths and interests. The primary purpose of the post is to provide information support to Cranfield School of Management (SOM), and as such you will need to become familiar with business and management information resources.

Although the post is based at the Management Information and Resource Centre (MIRC) you will be responsible for providing support to the School's Executive Development Programmes. In particular you will work closely with colleagues based in the Centre for Customised Executive Development (CCED) and this will include spending time working at the Knowledge Interchange, which is used by delegates attending the programmes.

You will be a member of the Information Services team, led by John Harrington, the purpose of which is to ensure that customers are able to make maximum use of the information resources we provide for them. The team is committed to a proactive service in which the provision of help and support, often on an individual basis, remotely or in-person, is coupled with high standards of customer service.
