within the diegesis the intersection is located an hour and a half from chicago, on the raod to indianapolis, which would put it in NW indiana . . .

 

here's the dialogue from that part of the film:

 

EVE:  Take the Greyhound Bus that leaves Chicago . . . for  Indianapolis at  :   and ask the driver to let you off at Prairie Stop, Highway    .

 

THORNHILL:   Prairie Stop, Highway    . Good.:                 

 

 EVE:  It's about an hour-and-a-half's drive from Chicago.

                  

but that of course has nothing to do with where it was filmed
