Years ago people took
papers home in a briefcase to work on and left them on the train/bus/table at
home for all to see. What’s changed except the paper records probably
related to 10 people and electronic records to thousands or more.

One could get even more
blunt, Jethro. "If you don't download your porn onto the office laptop, why on earth do you think
it's right to load our data onto
your home machine?"
Homeworkers must be correctly provided for. It is not a "cheap
solution", to have folk work from home, it's a cost effective solution and
a set of sensible logistics for a dispersed workforce, but they must, as you
say, be correctly equipped.
