How so? I know of several independent groups that emerged. They were democrat in leaning but were not officially part of the Democratic election machine. Some on several occasions berated Obama for shifting to the centre regarding Universal Health Provision and other issues during his campaign, and they encouraged voter registration. Is that really not something to be encouraged about? I feel optimistic that hundreds of thousands of disenfranchised voters mobilised and organised themselves in a way not seen for quite some time in the US. I worry that the Obama Presidency will be a huge disappointment but the emergence of hundreds of small participatory democracy movements is encouraging. Danny Also it was really nice to see Ambassador John Bolton on the BBC last night getting so desperate and angry that he suggested a BBC correspondent should be sacked for conducting a biased interview.
