Are there things going "crunch" in the night in your
collection? Are your windowsills littered with unidentified corpses? This
course aims to provide you with the knowledge to identify the main collections
insect pest species, how to find insects in your collections, and how to set up
a monitoring programme.
This one-day training course aims to introduce anyone working with
collections to the basics of pest identification and pest prevention. Delivered
by David Pinnigar, author of “Pest Management in Museums, Archives and
Historic Houses” who has worked around the world advising and running
training on pest management. The day will cover:

identify pest insects

pest insects cause

Ways to
prevent pest insects becoming established
· Ways to control pest
insects if they do cause problems

to establish and embed integrated pest management in your organisation
