RESEARCH FELLOW IN MEDICAL STATISTICS


Due to an internal promotion, a statistician is required to join the Medical Statistics Team located within the School of Medicine and Dentistry, Division of Applied Health Sciences.  You will provide statistical support to a variety of research projects as well as offer statistical consultancy to staff in the University and Grampian NHS.  In addition, you will be involved in teaching on a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses and a number of courses for staff.  You will also be expected to develop your own area of research consistent with the Institute of Applied Health Science's research strategy.

You should have a sound background in statistics from a PhD or MSc in statistics or a closely related discipline.  You should have experience in the design, conduct and analysis of quantitative research projects and experience of teaching statistics at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.  Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to work in a team are essential.

The post will be offered for a period of 3 years.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 7 scale (from £35,459 per annum), with placement according to qualifications and experience.
