Security, privacy
and access to the Internet to be tackled at Council of
Europe
Strasbourg, 16.10.2008
– Cybercrime, data protection, online child protection, web access for people
with disabilities and the sale of counterfeit medicines on the web will be
discussed at a two-day conference opening on Monday 20 October at the Council of
Europe in Strasbourg (France).
Some 150
representatives from the business community, governments and civil society will
engage in the first European Dialogue on Internet Governance (EuroDIG) to
discuss issues regarding the Internet and the way it is governed in order to
develop and shape European perspectives in preparation for the United Nations
Internet Governance Forum, to be held in Hyderabad (India) from 3 to 6 December
2008.

La sécurité, le
respect de la vie privée et l’accès à Internet en discussion au Conseil de
l’Europe

– La cybercriminalité, la protection des données, la protection des enfants sur
Internet, l’accès des personnes handicapées et la vente de médicaments
contrefaits sur le web seront discutés lors d’une conférence de deux jours qui
s’ouvrira lundi 20 octobre au Conseil de l’Europe à Strasbourg
(France).
Quelque 150
représentants du secteur privé, de gouvernements et de la société civile
s’engageront dans le premier Dialogue européen sur la Gouvernance de l’Internet
(EuroDIG). Les discussions porteront sur l’ensemble des questions relatives à
Internet et sa gouvernance avec pour objectif de développer une position
européenne en vue du prochain Forum des Nations Unies sur la Gouvernance de
l’Internet, qui aura lieu du 3 au 6 décembre 2008 à Hyderabad
(Inde).
