Call for Papers: Religion, Spirituality and the Globalisation of Social Inquiry
 
 
BSA Sociology of Religion conference stream, Annual Conference of the British Sociological Association, 2009
 

This call is for papers which advance ongoing research and reflection on the interrelations of religion and globalisation. Papers may offer new data about religion and spirituality in a globalising context; they may provide critical perspectives on current debates about religion and globalisation; they may analyse costs and benefits of the globalisation of social inquiry for the study of religion. Themes include, but are not limited to, the following:
 

* Transnational flows, impacts, comparisons
 
  
* The reinvigoration and emergence of transnational and universalising religions
 
 
* Revisioning secularization theory in global perspective
 
 
* Religion, diasporas and migrations
