Are you an archivist or records manager with experience in the health sector? Do you want a unique opportunity to take part in work that will have an impact across the sector nationally?

The National Archives is developing a collections strategy for health records in England. The strategy is being developed in consultation with the Health Archives Records Group of the Society of Archivists and other relevant bodies and sits within the wider framework of the National Collections Strategy.

One of the key aims of the health records strategy is to understand better the records and information (paper and electronic / medical and administrative) being created within NHS trusts in order to support their effective management and long-term survival.

We are looking for a qualified or suitably experienced records manager or archivist to review and investigate the records and information being created and maintained in two sample NHS trusts. The review will focus in particular on the intersection of paper and electronic record keeping - where and how the latter replaces the former and those instances where paper and electronic information are created alongside each other. The investigator will then be involved in the analysis of the findings and the writing of the resulting report.

This is a three-month contract post starting as soon as possible with a salary equivalent to £29,000 p.a. The role would suit an independent self-starter with strong verbal and written communication skills and experience of health records management and archives.
