Postdoctoral Researchers in Cosmology

The Institute of Cosmology & Gravitation (ICG) intends to appoint  
three postdoctoral researchers in observational and theoretical  
cosmology. A PhD degree and relevant research experience are required.  
The posts are for up to three years, starting on 1 OCTOBER 2009 (or  
earlier by agreement).

The researchers will work on projects funded by a Science and  
Technology Facilities Council rolling grant and two European Research  
Council grants. The projects are (for enquiries contact

* Cosmological perturbations and the origin of structure in the early  
universe, RTEC1139 (David Wands)

* Linking observations and theories of dark energy, RTEC1138 (Will  
Percival)

* Modified gravity as an alternative to dark energy, RTEC1137 (Kazuya  
Koyama)

The ICG consists of 10 academic staff, 14 postdoctoral researchers and  
22 PhD students, and is a member of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS- 
III), the Dark Energy Survey, the UK Low Frequency Array Consortium  
(LOFAR:UK) and the UK National Cosmology Supercomputer Consortium
