ZSL/WCS Conservation Challenges for the 21^st Century – 6-7.45pm, Tuesday 28 October 2008 – SAVING AFRICA’S ATHLETES: CONSERVING CHEETAHS AND WILD DOGS

Rosie Woodroffe will talk about her long term conservation work with wild dogs in Kenya, and will introduce plans for conserving both wild dogs and cheetah across Africa;

Maurus Msuha will draw on many years of experience in carnivore conservation in Tanzania, and will outline problems faced by African countries in meeting conservation objectives and ways to establish a new generation of conservation leaders in Africa; and

Sarah Durant will discuss her long term work on cheetah conservation in Tanzania and show how conservation plans for the two species can be implemented.

 

This event is free and open to everyone so please circulate this to others who may be interested. The talks will begin at 6pm and the doors to the ZSL Meeting Rooms will be open from 5.15pm on the evening; seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis so there is no registration for this event. It should be well-attended so please arrive early to ensure you get a good seat and please note that latecomers may not be admitted until a suitable break in the schedule.

ZSL/WCS Conservation Challenges for the 21st Century is a new series of events aimed at highlighting the collaborative conservation work between the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) and the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS).
