The manager must also remember that first
aiders must work exactly as we do – within a sphere of competence,
I do a lot of training work with first aiders,
and am more worried about those who want
to ‘stay and play’,
that those who ‘if in doubt chuck
them out’
There are wrong ways to do things, but very
often there can be more that one right,
And when not sure, the ambulance or
hospital is the right place.

Subject: Re: [OCC-HEALTH] Hospital
charges for A+E visit -straight from the horses mouth!
Further to my enquiry - I have spoken to our insurance
people and have been told that for any work related accident requiring
treatment and a claim is involved- a cost is recovered from the insurers
outpatient
treatment £547 one off
in-patient
£672 per day and capped at £40,197
ambulance
charge is £165
Not
that it will affect whether an employee is assessed as needing hospital care
(so I shall tell the manager who complained that he felt some hospital
referrals by first aiders were unnecessary!!!!! we dont have that many honest)

Thanks
to all as usual
