Postdoctoral position is available at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.
The research focuses on laboratory and field studies of physical and chemical
properties of individual aerosol particles using our single particle mass
spectrometer and a variety of other aerosol instrumentation. Qualified
candidate will work closely with senior scientists to design and execute field
and laboratory experiments and tests. A Ph.D. in chemistry, physics,
atmospheric sciences or a related discipline is required. Prior hands-on
experience with instrument design, mass spectrometry, standard aerosol
instrumentation, vacuum techniques and lasers is essential as well as practice
with complex data analysis and computer programming skills. Additional skills
include experience in working in a research team environment; good oral and
written communications; interpersonal skills; initiative; the ability to collaborate
effectively on teams; creative/innovative thinking. The initial appointment will
