your own Living Library events in your library or community space. All
delegates will have the opportunity to take part in four discussion groups
covering the main Living Library themes:
•	Space and Time
•	Recruiting Books
•	Publicity and Promotion
•	Managing the event on the day

Kevin Harris and Linda Constable, Local Level and library staff will be sharing
the lessons learned from the four Living Library MLA pilot authorities:
Bournemouth, Bradford, Staffordshire and Kent.

What is a Living Library?
Living Library gives direct access to someone else’s experience, by allowing
people to ‘Borrow’ a Book i.e. a person who has significant experience or a
different perspective to share. It can be used to confront stereotypes and
prejudices, to explore diversity, encourage community cohesion or simply to
stimulate conversations (Loans) that otherwise might not happen.

Venue: Tuesday 4 November 10.30 - 4.00pm, The Resource Centre, Holloway
Road, London N7 6PA
Cost: £60 (plus £10.50 VAT) including Coffee/Tea & Lunch
