Dear Aditi

The 2005 Chartership Regulations specify 1000 words for the personal evaluative statement.  Headings and cross references are not included in this word count. Candidates are advised to avoid repetition and to make their sentences as concise as possible.  Proofreading by a mentor (or a "critical friend") can help with this.

Hello,

I have one more question please. My Eval. Statement is 1080 words. Is that acceptable?

Thanks in advance

Aditi

Colleagues

I'd like to second Jackie Dunn's advice not to rush to get an application in - it is more important to get it right rather than rushed. I hope that candidates submitting under the 2002 Regulations will be reassured to know that they have until 31st December 2008 to submit their applications: they do not have to be submitted by 21st October.

Whilst Board members make every effort to consider applications received before the cut off point there is no guarantee that an application that is received by, say, 21st October, will complete assessment and have the outcome confirmed at the November meeting.  The Chartership timeline explains the in-depth consideration given to all applications and why assessment can occasionally take longer than you might anticipate:

http://www.cilip.org.uk/qualificationschartership/FrameworkofQualifications/charteredmem/chartershiptimeline.htm

The Chartership contents page http://www.cilip.org.uk/qualificationschartership/FrameworkofQualifications/chartership.htm  provides links to all the forms that need to be completed, and to lots of other information and advice, but please do contact [log in to unmask] in the first instance if you have any queries so that we can provide accurate and up-to-date replies.  Thank you.

Good luck to all of you who are preparing and submitting applications over the next few months.

Does that mean if we have to get it in by December (for the 2002 regs) we have to submit it by 21 October?  Or is the important thing that we submit it by December?

Aditi,

You will have to leave at least a month before this date for your submission to allow time for the assessors to do their work before the board meets.

Best wishes

Hi Alexis,

I have a question as well. The board meeting is on the 19th of November, so by when do we need to submit our portfoilio to be on time for the 19th please?

Thanks

Aditi
