My client
is an award winning international business services provider and a major player
in the fast-growing Business Intelligence market. Their business is providing insightful
information to their customers, through innovative mapping-based solutions for
the property, retail and leisure industries.
Continued
growth and a broadening of their customer base has created a superb job
opportunity for an experienced spatial data analyst with a GIS
background.
What does
the role involve?
To assist in the processing and maintenance of the
various spatial and textual databases that the client uses. The role will demand that procedures for
the whole lifecycle of a dataset are established, from the receipt of the data
through to the final delivery of the data. Additionally the position will
involve the management and resolution of data related
queries.
Essential
Technical Skills;
▪
Digital data handling
skills, ideally with experience in handling geographic/geodemographic or market
analysis data. Someone possessing
experience or an interest in retail or the commercial property business will
particularly enjoy this work.
▪
Must not be flustered when
handling large amounts of data.
▪
Solid data management
experience using SQL Server or maybe Access
▪
Analytical, able to see
into data
▪
Some knowledge of GIS is
required but this can be taught if the candidate has the required IT and data
handling skills. Ideally but not
necessarily in ArcGIS
▪
Some ability to write
small analytical, manipulating and display programs. One of VBA, VB or SQL will
suffice
