FOCUS ON CHANGE. "Born after 1989" - JUNGE LEUTE IM HEUTIGEN DEUTSCHLAND

Conference for German teachers and students on 15 November 2008 at the GOETHE INSTITUT LONDON

Next year will mark the twentieth anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall and it will be fascinating to gauge the mood of the current generation of young Germans and find out what really makes them tick. The workshop is hosted jointly by the AMGS (Association for Modern German Studies) and the Goethe-Institut London and is aimed at students, who are preparing for their AS- and A-Level or IB examinations, as well as students in HE and FE on intermediate (B1) courses and teachers in secondary schools, language centres and higher and further education institutions.
Participating students are encouraged to ask individual young German Language Assistants all sorts of questions (in GERMAN, if they like!) that they feel strongly about. Both students and teachers alike will be able to share experiences and discuss innovative topics that concern them. The workshop aims to provide the participants with a wealth of new ideas for teaching and learning. Additional material will be placed on the AMGS website in the run-up to the event and as a follow-up. The emphasis throughout will be on working with the principle of learner motivation and on developing innovative methods for teaching and learning.
Lunch will provide an opportunity for informal networking and the various specially invited institutions will get together to discuss future cooperation. The "Marktplatz" will offer a variety of German-style food.

Course fees incl. of lunch # 10 Concessions: # 5 (students, AMGS members). New members of the AMGS for 2008/2009 will pay only next year's membership.
Please send your cheque by 7 November, 2008 giving the name of the participant(s) on the back to:
