this message concerns the 18th IMACS World & MODSIM09 Conference, to be held at the Cairns Convention
Centre from July 13-17, 2009, in Australia.
As Coordinator (together with Mark Howden) of the "Global Change and Natural Hazards" stream (*), I am looking at experts who would
be willing to propose/chair sessions related to the mentioned topic.
If you are interested in proposing/organizing a Session on the topic of our "stream", please submit your proposal via the Conference
website (or contact us via e-mail).

Conference Streams (and their Coordinators) include:
- Water Resources (Shahbaz Khan and Rob Argent),
- Participatory Decision Making and Modelling Social Systems (Claudia Pahl-Wostl and Blair Nancarrow),
- Global Change and Natural Hazards (Mark Howden and Giulio Iovine), (*)
- Environment and Ecology (Alexey Voinov and David Pullar),
- Computer Sciences (Andrea Rizzoli and Dave Swayne),
- Economic and Financial Systems ( Mike McAleer and Les Oxley).
As concerns Congress Proceedings, please note that abstracts are due Nov 28 2008.
Full papers are required by March 13, 2009.
There will also be an accompanying workshop to the Congress on "Innovative and integrative methods for Water Resource Management."
Workshop participants will have published their papers in the Congress Proceedings so that the workshop can focus on the planning of
an associated book.
Early Career Researchers and students are especially welcome and we are intending to call for Travel Grant Applications from this
group to attend the workshop.
