This hasn’t come up at our centre, but JCQ regs just mention passports (not whether they are in-date or not), and so long as you can recognise the candidate from their photo I wouldn’t see a problem with accepting it.

On the subject of ID.....do other centres refuse out-of-date driving licences, passports, etc.

 

I had a bit of a disagreement with a member of curriculum staff last week as an adult learner pitched up with an old (expired) passport as ID which we refused....I'd be interested to hear what other Exams Officers do.
