For those interested in colonial/postcolonial issues, and plight of indigenous peoples, watch this new SBS tv series on ‘first Australians’. Episode 1 deals with the impact the Brits had, when they reached Sydney. Episode 2 deals with the war against Tasmanian Aboriginal people. Further ones deal with legal issues, fight for land, and culture.

Commentaries from indigenous geographers/anthropologists/historians, including our own Marcia Langton.

Should be viewable worldwide (unlike BBC, which is not)

Brace yourselves - harrowing
