As you leave Carcassone (11th cent cite, and modern bit - 17th-18th cent - lovely if you like ornate balconies) there is now a sign saying Last Macdonalds for 45 km. If you can avoid the pate du sanglier, cassoulet, exquisite and affordable corbieres wine etc at Lagrasse, Capendu and Fabrezan (best cafe in the world where you can bring your own pizza) there is indeed another MacDonalds just off the A61 - they do coca cola. It's full of French social psychologists studying the decline of the West.

Cher Craig .... You can sample both French CP and French food at the European Conference in late 2009 but from the web site menu it looks like the CP is showing signs of United Statesian influence (empowerment, ecological etc) ... even in France, home of the great French social theorists, the struggle between indigenous and colonising ways of thinking and acting in relation to psy is underway ... the same is of course the case with food too but hopefully resistance to the United Statesianisation of food will be great in France ...
