We developed a monitoring system for vulnerable adults that included a sit to stand alarm that worked very well. I could try and resurrect the system.

Hi,

 

I have a patient on a rehab ward who have been considering ideas to remind the patient to stay seated in her wheelchair/static chair. The Dr. was asking whether we had a buzzer that triggered when they started to stand up, perhaps a pressure switch, switch inverter and buzzer. The inverter I don’t seem to be able to find as a commercial product. A Tray or lapbelt would be an obvious low tech solution. There would need to be a detailed risk assessment too.

 

Does anyone have a specific product you consider would work?

Has anyone tried this successfully too?
