One easy way to do this might be to use a simple camera from Maplin etc.

Plug it in to the inputs of their TV and they can then access that
channel through their EC system, which presumably already has an
intercom and door release.
Other cameras include audio, but I doubt it would be two way.

if so how? Also I wonder why the Environmental Control companies don't

Subject: Video Door Entry System
Hi All
Can anyone recommend a good Video Door Entry System that they have used?
I am working with a group of people with learning disabilities, living
in 7 flats who would like to be able to:
- see on a stand alone monitor who is at their front door
- talk to the person at the door
- release the door lock from their flat
There are so many out there it is a mine field!
