YORK TRIALS UNIT

The York Trials Unit is an established trials unit based within the 
Department of Health Sciences, University of York.

You will, in the first instance, mainly work on the NIHR-HTA funded 
randomised controlled trials. We currently have a wide portfolio of 
trials across diverse areas including mental health, wound care, 
pre-natal care, osteoporosis.  You will also provide statistical advice 
and input to trial design and advise on analysis i.e. for grant 
application. There will also be the opportunities to undertake 
methodological work.  You will be encouraged to attend relevant 
specialist training courses as required.

You will join an expanding group of medical statisticians, within the 
Department, led by Professor Martin Bland.  As well as data analysis 
there are also opportunities for teaching Health Sciences postgraduate 
students.  You will be based in the Unit but there are extensive 
opportunities to collaborate across the Department with other research 
groups.

Salary within the range: £28,152 to £34,624 per annum on Grade 6 and 
£34,624 to £42,583 per annum on Grade 7.  The hours of work are 37 hours 
per week and the post is available for up to two years.
