Yes an unusual request.
Silva viscosity will vary substantially in individuals.
Mine is quite low viscosity at present having just eaten an orange, but most
have experience of thick stringy saliva (spinnbarkiet, but I am prepared to be
corrected on the spelling) which always seems to occur at the dentist.
Are they thinking of a salivary Schirmer's test?

Subject: saliva viscosity measurement
One of our neurologists would like to
measure the viscosity of saliva in patients.
I have enquired at the neighbouring hospital who measure plasma
viscosity for us but they cannot help.
Is there anyone who might be able to do this assay?
Kind regards
Ian
