Hi Richard, If you want the site to list every academic in the world, then you will need to incorporate a fourth level for precarious/casual academics. For example, I currently work at one university, I was working at three last semester, and at yet another over winter and summer. One way to do this would be invert the current method of signing up of university affiliation first, research interests second, so the tree is organised around research interests rather than university affiliation. ciao, Glen. I've just launched a website, www.academia.edu, which does two things: - It displays academics around the world in a 'tree' format, according to what university/department they are affiliated with. - It enables researchers to keep track of the latest developments in their field - the latest people and papers. My hope is that the site will list every academic in the world -- Faculty members, Post-Docs, and Graduate Students. It's gaining some traction.
