We got our giggle last night.  http://complianceandprivacy.com/News-Harris-Info-Spams-C&P.html how a major vendor of high quality databases has not been quite as careful as they might have been.

The message?

Never, not EVER, buy in a database that contains email addresses.  This one is a 100% copper bottomed fake email address, engraved on a gold brick.  I don't care how reputable the vendor is. They either bought, or cloned, a fake to address.

Yesterday Nigel, Renzo and I were speaking at a DP event ion The Law Society. A fellow speaker, Tim Beadle, made the point about lists and not, not, not buying them in.  It was good fun last night to get back to the office and find this excellent example!
