The Graduate School ‘Human Development in Landscapes’ which has been
established as part of the DFG Excellence-Initiative at the
Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel, Germany, invites applications
for a two plus one year PhD fellowship for the following
project:
Habitat Harz: The Environmental History of a Mountain Area and its
Foothills
The project will focus on palaeobotanical
study (pollen analysis, archaeobotany, anthracology) of the
environmental history of the Harz mountains area, Germany. Aims of the
project include reconstruction of the landscape history of the Harz
mountain area in (pre-) medieval und modern times with focus on the
impact of mining, ore dressing and metal production on the development
of the present landscape. For more details please check the attached
