Dear colleagues,

I am actually working on a french medieval site (IX th and Xth century) which delivered a great number of Carex, and some Eleocharis and Sparganium. As the site is not located in a humid context (neither near a river nor close to a pond), I think that a special use was made of these plants. Would anyone have archaeobotanical or ethnological references concerning the use of Carex ?

Thank you very much for your help.
