Anna,

BS-8300 states (sec 4.1.2.2)

"For workplaces where the number of employees who are disabled motorists
is known, the minimum
number of designated spaces should be one space for each employee who is
a disabled motorist, plus at least
one space or 2 % of the total capacity, whichever is the greater, for
visiting disabled motorists, with a
minimum of one space."

"For workplaces where the number of employees who are disabled motorists
is not known, at least one space
or 5 % of the total parking capacity should be designated as parking for
disabled motorists (to include both
employees and visitors), whichever is the greater."

This is minimum proportion and anything on top of that is a bonus.

Hope that helps.

Rob

Subject: [ACCESSIBUILT] Proportion of accessible parking spaces

Dear All,

Apologies for such a basic question but I'm a bit rusty on access these
days. Can anyone remind me of the recommended proportion of accessible
bays within a staff/visitor car park? I'd be interested in both
minimums and best practice numbers.

Kind regards,

Anna
