Hello Miriam

If you are an RCN member contact the SOHN as there are a number of scholarships available through them. The Peter Holgate Scholarship for example was set up to help fund the education of OHNs registered on the course which was at the RCN and transferred to London South Bank University in 2000. The H SA also have monies available for CPD for nurses and other health care professionals. Keep a look out in the nursing journals eg NT and N Standard.
Best of luck

Hi,

May I dip into your discussion regarding funding as I would be interested to know on how to do this?
Unfortunately I would not be able to do bedside nursing since my back problem 3 years ago.
I work as a Band 5 full time Clinic Nurse for 28 months now and the thought of getting into Specialist training is appealing.
I can not afford to pay for the course neither my department. I also have to look ways on how to get into Band 6 for better pay as I have been working as Staff Nurse for 7 years here in UK.

I would appreciate your suggestions.

Many thanks

Miriam Alarilla
