This is totally appalling, this is exactly the sort of thing we, as midwives throughout the world, must do something about. Recently we have been investigating the impact on PPH on women, their recovery and adaptation to motherhood, all of which are adversely affected in the UK. How much worse must this be when women are  abused and tortured at a time when they need care?

I am going to the Domican Republic on holiday next week, and am now viewing this holiday somewhat differently to 10 minutes ago.
