Is it suggested, as with the CKO post, that it be an adjunct to the individual's day job?

Hi Rhiannon,

Follow the following link to see the generic role description for a Team Knowledge Officer. The Team Knowledge Officer (TKO) role description has been developed in response to requests for further information from Trusts. It can be adapted locally to reflect the specific needs of individual teams. See also the CKO / TKO context document.

http://www.library.nhs.uk/aboutnlh/review for CKO related documents.

Regards

Anne

Dear colleagues

Has anyone drafted a role description for a "Team knowledge officer" that they would be willing to share.

I will summarise responses to the list

Apply to become a member of your local Hospital !

Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust is applying to become a Foundation Trust and we want to recruit 4,000 members (who can be either patients or members of the public) from the local community to have a say in how the Trust is run and help shape the future of the hospital for the next 20 years. Members can:

• Help influence decisions about future plans for the development of the Trust.
• Support the work of the Trust and receive regular newsletters.
• Stand for election to the Council of Governors and work with the Trust Board to ensure that the Trust delivers services that reflect the needs of the local community.

If you feel you don’t have the time to get too involved then that is fine – we can just send you information about our services so that you can keep up to date with our plans. We are reassuring all of our members that the level of commitment required as a member is entirely up to them and there are absolutely no fees or subscriptions.

Applying is very easy and will only take a couple of minutes. You can apply for membership online at: http://www.meht.nhs.uk/foundation-trust/apply-online/. Alternatively, you can request a membership application form by e-mailing [log in to unmask], by calling: 01245 514508 (during office hours) or by writing to Foundation Trust Office, Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, CM1 7ET.
