biab online Editorial Assistant

biab online - one of the CBA's key information services - is looking for a part-time staff member to work with the team sourcing and entering information into the new biab online system. The post is part-time, initially until the end of March 2009, but with the possibility of continuation thereafter subject to funding.

You will be working the equivalent of a 21 hour week (3 days) in the salary band £13,700 to £17,700 pro-rata (depending on experience). It will also include a 10% employer's pension contribution. We are also open to applications from freelance professionals.

The post will be based initially in the biab online office in central London for the first four weeks for training and system-familiarization, though there is scope for working remotely after that. Duties involve sourcing specified current publications online, and in hard-copy at the major libraries, and entering the required data into the biab online system. You will be required to write brief abstracts for some entries. Working with the biab online Chief Bibliographer as part of the CBA Information & Communications Team you will be given training for the role. The candidate should have experience of database input and the historic environment sector, preferably with an archaeology or library/information science degree.
