Hi Maggie - You can download a copy of our Guide for Personal tutors - which includes guidelines on referrals to Student Services (not academic study advisors as we didn't have such a service last year, but most of the principles are the same) - at http://staffcentral.brighton.ac.uk/clt/resources/personal_tutor.htm ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------ Pauline Ridley, Learning Area Co-ordinator (Visual Practices) Learnhigher CETL, Centre for Learning and Teaching Room 113, Mayfield House, Falmer Campus, University of Brighton Brighton BN1 9PH Telephone 01273-643406 Email [log in to unmask] Visit the CLT website at http://staffcentral.brighton.ac.uk/clt Visual Practices website http://staffcentral.brighton.ac.uk/learnhigher <http://staffcentral.brighton.ac.uk/learnhigher> ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------ From: learning development in higher education network [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Maggie Boyle Sent: 08 August 2008 12:54 To: [log in to unmask] Subject: referral guidelines Hi I'm just writing a web page for personal tutors for our new website. I wanted to add some information about how personal tutors might refer a student to us if they have a concern. Does anyone have any printed or online guidelines for academic staff on appropriate ways to refer? I would imagine that we would want to point out that the student visit should be voluntary and would be confidential. I would be grateful to see wording and/or ideas.
