COMMUNITY OUTREACH OFFICER (TEMP)


(Maternity cover to 29 May 2009)

 


SALARY: £23,749 - £25,320 Per Annum


 

Council wishes to appoint an enthusiastic and resourceful individual on a temporary basis to continue the work of the Causeway Museum Service Community Outreach Project.  The successful candidate, who will provide maternity cover, will work throughout the four local authority areas of Coleraine, Ballymoney, Limavady and Moyle where they will be required to continue the development and delivery of the Community Outreach projects and regional programming,  taking museum skills out into local communities working with tangible, intangible, moveable and immovable heritage. 

 

All applicants are required to clearly demonstrate that they fulfil the following essential criteria which include: 

 

*	Possess a third level qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject such as museum or heritage studies, cultural management, history, science, community work/education or similar:
*	Possess at least two years experience in the last five years of working in a collections or heritage based environment such as museums, libraries, archives, historic sites, etc:
*	Previous experience of developing and delivering interpretative projects such as temporary exhibitions, publications and/or education materials;
*	Previous experience of working with all of the following: community groups, schools, other staff and museum and/or heritage professionals;
*	Competency in IT and internet skills;
*	Possess a full driving licence and have access to a mode of transport in order to carry out the duties of this position;
*	Be available to work evenings and/or weekends to cover out of hours duties.
