Job Title: Learning Team Manager
Geevor Tin Mine closed as a working mine in 1990 and is now a Heritage Centre, a registered museum, operated by a charity, Pendeen Community Heritage, on behalf of the owners, Cornwall County Council. It is a rapidly developing site with an exciting future. The completion of the recent £3.8million restoration project and construction of a new museum will enable the site to develop to its full potential. Learning, whether formal or informal, is one of the major activities on the site.
Reporting to the management of PCH, responsibilities will include:
- The management, planning, development, delivery and control of all formal and informal educational work on the site.
- Proactively market educational products developed on site.
- Source funding for educational and outreach development.
- Widening audience development and accessibility.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level and have relevant management experience in a museum or other organisation in the cultural sector. She/ he will have a high level of knowledge about the organisation of education in Cornwall and the changing requirements of the National Curriculum.
Salary: £19,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week including some weekend sessions
Holiday entitlement: 25 days (includes public holidays) rising to 28 days in 2009.
