The RDA elements, roles and vocabularies from the RDA elements list have all been added to the metadata registry: http://metadataregistry.org/schema/show/id/1.html [elements] http://metadataregistry.org/schema/show/id/4.html [roles] http://metadataregistry.org/vocabulary/list.html [vocabularies under RDA...] From these pages, if you click on "RDF" at the bottom right you receive the entire schema or vocabulary in RDA/XML. We know that there are updates we haven't yet received, and that some of the vocabulary lists haven't yet been made available, and we will fill those in when we receive them. There are some "quirks" that will need to be worked out. In particular, RDA treats roles such as "illustrator" "author" "composer" as a vocabulary that is used in relation to personal and corporate names. Our intention is to use the roles as properties in the description of the resource with a personal or corporate entity identifier. To bridge these two different viewpoints, we decided to code RDA roles as a separate schema. That, however, surfaces some problems where RDA has elements like "publisher name" that make use of a role as property. I think we'll need to do some data modeling to figure out the best solution. It would be interesting at this point to try to develop some simple application profiles. I encourage experimentation in this area! We can post these on the wiki. If you are familiar with the Dublin Core Description Set Profile, it might be interesting to code some experimental APs using the draft XML schema: http://dublincore.org/architecturewiki/DescriptionSetProfile?action=AttachFile&do=get&target=dcmi-dsp.xsd kc -- ----------------------------------- Karen Coyle / Digital Library Consultant [log in to unmask] http://www.kcoyle.net ph.: 510-540-7596 skype: kcoylenet fx.: 510-848-3913 mo.: 510-435-8234 ------------------------------------
