Hi Gurpreet (and others on list who might be intersted in volunteering with the BA),

 

The BA very much welcome volunteers and have a variety of opportunities depending on what sort of thing you would like to do and where you are based, for example, mentoring Gold CREST award applicants or helping out at the Festival whether as an assistant or via the sections if you want to help develop the programme.  The biggest source of volunteering opportunities with the BA however is through the Branches.  Find your local branch through the Activity in Your Area section of our website: http://www.the-ba.net/the-ba/RegionsandBranchesSection/InYourArea/index.htm

 

If you would like to make a general enquiry the Regional Officers will be able to give you information about opportunities.  The contact details of ROs can be found under the region sections in the above pages.  Martin Davies has just finished working for the BA and his replacement will be starting with us soon.

This year, the BA Festival of Science is in Liverpool as we join the Capital of Culture 08 celebrations.

Join us for debates in venues like the Cavern Club on the latest hot topics and research, get cultural at plays about the history of science, create your own big bang at the family weekend Science Explosion at the World Museum, get out and about on one of our many excursions and talk to some of the best and well known scientists from the UK and abroad. Sir David King, Ranulph Fiennes, Robert Winston, Adam-Hart Davis, Dick Strawbridge, Jim Al-Khalili, a host of crime writers and many more will be joining us at the University of Liverpool and venues all across the city and beyond.
