When the Colliery that I was employed at closed in 1993 I was kept on under contract for a further eighteen months and I personally witnessed many documents including many sensitive documents being shredded. This included all personal and training records,some ventilation records,the majority of admin records and unfortunately quite a few Deputies reports. The Deputies reports were destroyed accidentally by an over zealous clerk. The only things that I remember being kept were documents and items of historical importance that were donated to the Institute Of Mining Engineers.
