On the 30th June 2008 the Q&A Service came to the end of its contract. Given that the intrinsic value of Q&A Service was the interaction between the person asking and the staff responding at a specific point in time the decision has been made not to make the archive of the Q&A Service searchable as there is a clinical risk to provide pointers to out of date evidence.

 

The Darzi Report recommendation for the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) to take over the National Library for Health (NLH) and set up NHS Evidence by April 2009, means that a broad strategic look at all our services is now required. In addition, NLH have received a Report (commissioned from Tribal) that will inform future thinking about any replacement service.
