Position: GIS Technician Location: Hampshire Rate: £8 per hour Duration: 3 - 6 Months Generics client has an immediate require for a GIS Technician to join its team based in Hampshire. Job Description Duties include: " Maintaining spatial data across the organisation " Respond to mapping requests from within the department " Assist other GIS users across the department with technical assistance " Carry out data capture tasks " Advise management and other staff in GIS related issues on behalf of the department " Provide support to staff for the in-house mapping application " Provide low-level general IT support for users with the department " Maintenance of metadata for department datasets Desired attributes: " MUST have previous experience with GIS " MUST be familiar with Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Access) to an intermediate level " Effective written and oral communicator " Be comfortable interacting in a management setting To unsubscribe or modify your gis-jobs settings, please visit: http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/gis-jobs
