Sales & Marketing Consultant £29,000 - £34,000 plus bonus Buchanan Computing with its range of over 25 products and modules is the UK leading supplier of software for the traffic and transportation industry. The company is part way through a successful period of growth based upon the development of its GIS based systems. These include AccsMap, ParkMap and LineMap. Almost every major local authority in the UK uses one or more of Buchanan's products. Buchanan Computing is highly responsive to the needs of its clients and the successful candidate will need to continue and build on this consultative approach. They should regard a sale as only the start of a long-term business relationship, followed by ongoing support and training services. The Sales & Marketing Consultant role is a combination of the management of existing customer accounts and the acquisition of new ones. Duties will include client building by generating leads and following them up, undertaking promotional activities and monitoring the results. These activities will include organising stands at trade exhibitions, mail shots and assisting with the preparation of articles for trade magazines. To succeed you will be diligent and methodical, motivated by customer satisfaction, be a natural client builder with excellent face-to-face presentational skills, and have previous public sector or business interface experience. Relevant experience of local government, or a working knowledge of Buchanan's systems or other MapInfo products would be an advantage but not essential.
