The East London and Thames Gateway area is a major
focus for regeneration, redevelopment and growth. Recent years have seen many
major and a host of smaller projects interfacing with ground, all of which have
contributed to a greater understanding of the behaviour and nature of the ground
conditions. This seminar has been conceived to capture that advance in knowledge
and understanding. It is also intended as a vehicle to disseminate opportunities
in the challenges lying ahead on some of the major projects either ongoing or
planned.
Commencing with an overview of the geology of the
area, the seminar will go on to examine advances in our understanding of the
geological structure and material properties of the key formations. This will be
followed by a series of case studies looking at the impact of the ground
conditions on a range of significant projects with surface and subsurface
engineering, both on land and over water. Generous time has been allowed for
discussion within the sessions and during breaks in the
proceedings.
The speakers are drawn from
organisations across the spectrum and include eminent ground professionals from
client, contracting and consulting organisations.
The programme and registration is detailed in the flyer attached.
Best Regards
